The Great Easter Egg
Hunt

Another great event
organised by the PTA. Some of the younger children get ready
for the start of the Great Easter Egg Hunt.
Mid-Sussex
Chamber Ensemble

The Spring term ended in
great style with a festival of music. Pupils learnt about
the different instruments, answered questions and enjoyed
listening to a wonderful range of music including drumming
from Spring class.
Greek Army comes to
Balcombe

Spring Class enjoyed a
great day learning all about the Greeks, everyone was
enthusiastic about joining the Greek army
Russian Snow Blows In

For the first time, in
over
twenty years, it was necessary to shut the school because of
the weather.
Nativity plays to packed
houses

The very youngest children (4-7 yrs)
performed two Nativity performances to packed houses. The children
sang and performed with great energy and confidence. Every child
well enough took part.
Fantastic Response to Fitness Week

A fantastic response by Balcombe
parents to the
challenge of Fitness week. During the week many parents and family members
came into school to
partner pupils around a challenging fitness
circuit.
World War 2 Day

Children in Mill Class enjoy and learn a lot
during World War 2 Day. They were greeted by Sergeant Evans
and spent an active day - marching, doing field craft, and
learning about weapons and equipment used during the war.

Children learn about fire safety
West Sussex
Fire and Rescue Service helped the children to learn about
the importance of 'fire safety.' Rosemary Robertson
stylishly models the latest in 'Fire Wear' clothing.
Infants enjoy Pyjama Party

Friday the 13th March was
not an unlucky day for the infants because as part of their
topic work - 'Night-Time,' they enjoyed an all-day pyjama
party.
Huxley Birds of Prey

When Huxley Birds of prey
visited Balcombe School, the pupils had some excellent
questions ready for the bird experts.
Healthy Lifestyle
Programme

Children are keen to ask if they
can have their lunchbox checked, so they can receive a
sticker for eating healthily.
'The
Machine-Gunners'

As part of their World War
2 studies children in Mlll class read 'The Machine-Gunners,'
by Robert Westall.
The children chose an
aspect of the story they most enjoyed and then wrote and
filmed their own personalised version.
Sleeping Beauty

You can't beat live
interactive theatre! Pupils enjoy and fully participate in
Rainbow Theatre's marvellous performance of 'Sleeping
Beauty.'
Feel the
Rhythm?
Spring class
demonstrate their very good sense of rhythm and excellent
drumming skills to parents.
Children in Need

Balcombe
children set up stalls
and show
of their entrepreneurial
skills by raising £256 for 'Children in
Need.'
Skipping Workshop

After skipping workshop sessions, children
become even better skippers. Can you do a pretzel or a
double crossover?
